Driveway Permits
To protect you, your property, the driving public, and the roads; Ross County requires permits for driveway installation onto county rights of way. To initiate the process call the Ross County Planning & Building Commission(RCPBC) @ 740-773-7200. Important considerations include line-of-sight, driveway pipe specifications, size of pipe, slope as it comes onto the right-of-way, and the connection to the existing road surface of the driveway.
Another part of that process is placement of the mailbox for rural delivery. Important considerations include placement location and the type of mounting employed.
In either case most of the time it is a fairly quick and painless process, if inquiry is made before the work begins. We will work to complete the process as quickly as possible and some of the information regarding sizing and type of culvert or pipe can be started on the telephone.
